1200x1200_EasterBanner_Step1Plan and prep. Choose your colour scheme and your product. If you would like to replicate the design we have featured in this project, simply refer to list above. This tutorial will assume you’ve selected these items.
1200x1200_EasterBanner_Step2Easter egg creation. Draw an egg shape approximately 2 x 3 inches on to your card stock and cut it out using your scissors, so you have it as a stencil to ensure all your eggs are the same shape. Using the stencil, trace and cut out another 24 eggs from your card stock, so you have 24 eggs in total.
1200x1200_EasterBanner_Step3Easter egg design #1 (stripes and zig zag). Place a strip of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Blue Weave on your cutting mat. Using a ruler, (and the lines on your cutting mat) trim the tape so that the strip is ½ inch. wide. Placing your ruler on the diagonal, trim the strip into triangles. Once you have your triangles all trimmed, apply them to your egg. Make a straight row of them facing upwards and a second row above facing down. Add two lines of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold Diamonds to above and below to finish the design.
1200x1200_EasterBanner_Step4Easter egg design #2 (striped).  Apply a strip of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Blue Weave, followed by Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Bubble Dots and then Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold Diamonds. Repeat the pattern to replicate the image shown, and trim the excess tape with your utility knife.

Easter egg design #3 (polka dots). To create your polka dots, place a piece of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Bubble Dots on wax paper. Use your hole punch to cut out the small circles. Then, simply remove the paper from the back of the circles and stick onto the middle of the egg! Add a few strips of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold Diamonds to the top and bottom to finish the design of the look. Be sure to trim excess tape from around the edges.

Easter egg design #4 (letters). To create your letters, pace three strips of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold Diamonds in the center of the egg, vertically. Place stencil of the desired letter centered on top, and trace the letter and follow that line with your utility knife.  Be sure to score the tape carefully and don’t cut through the card stock. Carefully peel away the excess tape to reveal your letter. At the end you should have six letter eggs that read: “E-A-S-T-E-R.”
1200x1200_EasterBanner_Step5Banner creation. Once you have completed all your 24 eggs designs, lay out each piece in the order you want your banner to hang, and then cut a hole at the top and bottom of each egg using your whole punch tool. Cut a piece of twine to length (about 24 inches) and weave it through the holes in the eggs, linking them together. Secure the final egg with a piece of tape to the back.
1200x1200_EasterBanner_Step6EXPERT TIP: Have patience and be creative! You can add other colours of tape to this project, just make sure not to slack on the trimming. It’s a key part of making your eggs look crisp!
