Happy gift-styling from the Scotch® Brand Team!
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
TIME NEEDED: Approximately 15-30 minutes
Scotch® Brand Supplies:
- Scotch™ Precision Ultra Edge Scissors
- Scotch Expressions Washi Tape, Orange
- Scotch Expressions Washi Tape, Yellow
- Scotch Expressions Washi Tape, Pink
- Scotch Expressions Washi Tape, Green/White Swiss Dot
- Plain gift box
- Gift tag
Plan and prep. Choose your colour scheme and your product. If you would like to replicate the design we have featured in this project, simply refer to list above. This tutorial will assume you’ve selected these items.
Begin your design. Using Scotch™ Precision Ultra Edge Scissors, cut an inverted V into the end of the Scotch Expressions Washi Tape, Orange. Starting about four inches from the top, attach a strip of the tape along one edge of the gift box’s lid, continuing over the side of the box.
Continue your design. Cut the end of your second tape — Scotch Expressions Washi Tape, Green/White Swiss Dot — the same way as in Step 1. Then, starting a half inch or so lower than the first strip, adhere your second tape next to the first strip on the box. Continue in this way, alternating the various coloured Washi Tapes and starting them at varying heights, until you’ve covered the entire lid of the box.
Add the finishing touches. Once you’ve placed your gift inside, tie some coordinating ribbon around the box and add a gift tag.
EXPERT TIP: Follow the pattern to create this look. Varying lengths create this design and get creative with your embellishments.
