October is here, the leaves are changing colour and that fall smell is in the air. What a beautiful time of year!
We’re all so excited to prepare our homes for family and friends that will be visiting very soon.
The craft created this week is great for decorating your home and can be used over top of a mantle or a wall in your home to help create that cozy thanksgiving feel that channels the colours of fall and the harvest season.
Stay tuned next week for another great thanksgiving craft.
Happy Thanksgiving from the Scotch® Brand Team
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
TIME NEEDED: Approximately 90 minute – 2 hours
Scotch® Brand Supplies:
Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold Vintage Rose
Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Silver Bubble Dots
Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Silver
Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold
Scotch® Double Sided Tape
- Sharp knife
- Small grapevine wreaths (or other)
- Small wooden letter shapes.
Plan and prep. Choose your colour scheme and your product. If you would like to replicate the design we have featured in this project, simply refer to list above. This tutorial will assume you’ve selected these items.
Apply a cover. Grab the wooden letter ‘T’ from your pile of small wooden letter shapes. Use Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold Vintage Rose and cover it completely and trim excess with your sharp knife. Next, get the wooden letter ‘H’ and apply your Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Silver to it and cover the entire letter. Use your sharp knife to trim the excess tape from the edges. Continue on with this process by applying Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Silver Bubble Dots to the ‘A’ and then the Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold to the wooden letter ‘N’. Continue this pattern for the reminder.
Twine prep. Lay out your piece of twine and then cut to your desired length after placing your wreaths over top to measure it.
Banner creation. To attach wreaths to twine, simply cut a piece of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape, Gold about 6-7 inches in length and wrap it centered around one side of the wreath. Before adhering to the other end, run the twine through your opening, wrap tape around it and adhere.
Spacing. Space all wreaths equally along the length of twine and secure using the same process as above.
Attach Letters. Once all wreaths are secure to the twine, you can add your tape-covered letters. This mini wreath collection will spell ‘THANKS’. To attach letters, you simply use your Scotch® Double Sided Tape to adhere to back of letters and attach to wreaths.
And you’re finished! A simply stunning banner for your home in preparation for the thanksgiving season.
