Pots with personality

Bring the outdoors in to create  your own desert landscape.

Inspired by the succulent craze, this week’s project is a colourful container garden using easy-to-find clay pots and a mixture of brightly hued and patterned Scotch® Tape. This craft is easy, fun and doesn’t require a green thumb!

The Scotch® Brand Team… xox

SKILL LEVEL: Easy to Intermediate

TIME NEEDED: 45 minutes

  • Scotch® Expressions Tape
  • Clay pots
  • Cutting mat
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring tape

1. To create a base of colours and patterns, stick short sections of tape diagonally around the base of the clay pot. Use Scotch® Expressions Masking and Packaging Tape to create a variety of widths and textures for a patchwork look.

2. Position and trim areas of tape to overlap. Using a hobby knife, make distinct shapes and sharp lines.

3. Working vertically around the clay pot, apply tape from the top edge in a straight line down toward the base.

4. Snip ends to wrap tape smoothly under the bottom of the pot.
PotsPopTIP: For smooth tape layers, work in small sections diagonally and vertically around the clay pot.
