Get Lockerlicious This School Season

It’s that time of year again. September is just around the corner, the nights are getting just a bit cooler and the Civic holiday has just passed. Have you guessed? You’re right…It’s Back-to-school time!

Don’t get too sad, there’s still a few weeks left of summer vacation; but it’s a great time to start planning for the school year ahead and getting your ducks in a row. Whether you’re a parent with a child returning to school, starting your first year of college or just embarking on another year ahead; this one’s for you.

It’s routine to start thinking about backpacks, fall wardrobes, school supplies, Post-it®  Notes and timetables – but have you ever stopped to think about making a statement in the halls in another way? This year, it’s cool to give your locker some love by customizing it. This week’s project walks you through some fun ways you can style your locker.

Locker selection. Open your locker and make sure to clean it out properly and allow it to dry to make for a blank canvas.Lockerlicious_Step 1 soloPlan and prep. Choose your colour scheme and select your product. If you would like to replicate the design we have here, simply refer to list above. This tutorial will assume you’ve selected the items in this design. Lockerlicious_Step 2 soloStart at the top. Choose a calendar and secure to locker door using Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape in Blue to create a framed look, leaving a thin border of the first frame exposed. Be sure to trim the edges using your sharp knife. Enhance the frame with a Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape in Big Zig to border all of the edges around the archway including the ceiling and sides.

Frame it up. To create an area for leaving reminder notes, refer to the image and use Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape in Pink to create another framed section. To create a more seamless look, do not overlap the tape at the corners and use your sharp knife to trim ragged edges. Include some additional lines of tape to the top of the bordered area to create a space to label the section ‘TO DO’. Lockerlicious_Step 4 soloMeet in the middle. In the center of the locker door create a decorative area for pinning notes and pictures with magnets. Line the space with Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape in Green/White Swiss Dot by bringing edges together to touch (not overlap). Trim any excess ends using your sharp knife. Cover the back of the locking mechanism to create a more refined look.

Magnet design. Apply the Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape in Blue in an overlapping way over magnets. Cut the excess with your sharp knife. Lockerlicious_Step 3 solo
